Hello ,
I have shared with most of you, my mom left this earthly realm October 20, 2023. For the past week I have returned to her home in St Louis with my siblings and we are cleaning and clearing out her home. This time is beautiful, raw, heartbreaking, liberating and a true honor; bearing witness to a person's life and ALL it encompasses. Relationships are complex, dynamic, messy and so fully human. This past week I have been reminded of this over and over. The full spectrum of emotions have been such a gift.
I am so grateful for:
~Reflections of the past
~Awareness of the present
~Curiosity into the future

A new law in California that bans 4 common food additives will go into effect at the beginning of 2027. |

|
That may seem far off, but here’s what you need to know about these additives right now:

The banned additives are Red Dye No. 3, brominated vegetable oil, potassium bromate, and propylparaben.
-
They are banned because of research raising concerns about cancer, reproductive issues, and neurobehavioral problems—particularly in children.
-
These additives are already banned in the European Union and many other countries.
We always have choices as consumers.
Now you have the choice to purchase products with these ingredients—or not. |

Have you heard of left nostril breathing?
🧘♀️ Yogic traditions teach that the left relates to moon energy: cooling, calming, and reflective. The right relates to sun energy: fiery, energizing, and awakening. So, the yogic practice of left nostril breathing is thought to have a calming effect on the body.
🧠 A more science-y way of explaining this is that left nostril breathing puts the body into a parasympathetic state (instead of the “fight or flight” mode of the sympathetic state). Studies have even shown that left nostril breathing changes brainwave activity on EEG. Pretty cool!
