Hello ,

We are rounding up another week! I feel the energy just under the surface ready to bloom with all that spring brings.  It can be a bit chaotic at times, with all the newness around us.  Remember to ground, breath and hydrate!

I had a great time away in Austin at my conference Breaking Barriers, The Complex Chronic Patient- I learned lots of great pearls and will be sharing bit and pieces through the spring.

If you are unable to make it to group visits in person, I will be recording the live visits, scroll down to listen to last Tuesday's Vagal Nerve presentation.  Future you can catch the replays in the weekly email!

Another gem from my sister, this poem......

She let go.

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.

She let go of the judgments.

She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.

She let go of the committee of indecision within her.

She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.

Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice.

She didn’t read a book on how to let go.

She didn’t search the scriptures.

She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.

She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go.

She didn’t journal about it.

She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.

She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.

She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.

She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.

She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.

She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.

She didn’t by Safire Rosecall the prayer line.

She didn’t utter one word.

She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.

There was no applause or congratulations.

No one thanked her or praised her.

No one noticed a thing.

Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort.

There was no struggle.

It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.

It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be.

A small smile came over her face.

A light breeze blew through her.

And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…

LEARNING

Here’s your weekly drop of health news, tips, and insights to keep you always moving toward your highest level of wellness and abundance.

📰 In the News

A new study (that I wish weren’t true) found that the annual healthcare costs resulting from exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) were almost $250 billion in the US alone.

EDCs are chemicals in plastics and also hide in flame retardants, food packaging, can linings, and non-stick cookware.

When they get into the human body, they disrupt our hormone systems and increase the risk for cancer, diabetes, infertility, preterm birth, and more.  Speaking of Hormones, the next 3 group visits we will be diving into hormone health. Hope to see you there!

The good news is that we have the power to make choices every day that minimize our exposure to EDCs. We also have ways to support our body’s natural detoxification systems. These are just some of the things we consider when working with our patients to optimize their health.

💡Pro Health Tip

One thing I always think about when somebody experiences food sensitivities is optimizing their gut and immune function. For example, by:

  • Eating an “anti-inflammatory” diet, meaning whole foods that are rich in antioxidants

  • Supporting the gut microbiome with probiotic-rich foods

  • Chewing your foods thoroughly and eat mindfully

This is only a tiny glimpse of all the things we can do to support people with food sensitivities because the solution is highly individual!

🔍 Did You Know?

Lots of times people expect food sensitivities to show up as stomach pain, loose stools, or other digestive issues. But the reality is that food sensitivities can show up as…

Tiredness

Brain Fog

Joint Aches

Feeling Bloated

Skin Rashes

Behavior Changes

Moodiness

And More!

Also, the reactions can take hours or days to show up, making it tricky to pinpoint a cause. If you want to better understand if foods are a trigger for you, ask me at your next visit!
