🥛β¨🫙Homemade Coconut Milk & Almond Milk
Whip up these creamy, delicious dairy-free milks at home in just a few simple steps! Perfect for smoothies, coffee, tea, or soup.Β Β Sub anyplace you use milk!
All you need is a blender, your nut of choice, water, and a nut milk bag!
Coconut Milk:
INGREDIENTS:
*οΈβ£ 2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
*οΈβ£ 3 cups hot water
STEPS:
1οΈβ£ Blend coconut and hot water for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
2οΈβ£ Strain through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth.
3οΈβ£ Squeeze out all the liquid and enjoy! Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
This recipe yields about 3 cups, which is roughly 3-4 servings
Almond Milk:
INGREDIENTS:
*οΈβ£ 2 cups raw almonds, soaked overnight
*οΈβ£ 4 cups water
*οΈβ£ Optional spices (I love adding nutmeg and cinnamon!)
STEPS:
1οΈβ£ Rinse and drain the soaked almonds.
2οΈβ£ Blend almonds with water for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
3οΈβ£ Strain through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth.
4οΈβ£ Sweeten with vanilla or a touch of honey, if desired. Refrigerate for up to 4 days.
This recipe yields about 4 cups, which is approximately 4-5 servings
You can adjust the amounts based on how much you want to make/what you intend to use your milk for.Β Β Try pumpkin seeds, cashews or macadamia nuts!
