Hello ,
I hope this finds you settling into a Sunday full of simple pleasures.
At group visit this past week, one of our members shared a wonderful bit about creating a habit through ritual and the push / pull analogy. I am still playing with this in my head but it goes something like this.......
When initially wanting to make an intentional change (habit), first there is a push (feels hard, takes consistency, uncomfortable for our neurology because it is different). The work/play is to create a ritual. Do this ritual until it becomes a pull. When it becomes a pull you are drawn to do the new change or behavior and it now becomes a habit.
Simplify the complexity of our humanness ALLways.
Be kind, be gentle, BE.
With EASE,
~ Lynn 🌈

A recent study found that common chemical flame retardants (called organophosphate ester metabolites) are linked to a higher risk of thyroid disease.
Measurements of OPEs in urine samples from 2449 participants (average age 46 years, half of whom were women) were compared with questionnaires about the presence of thyroid disease.
Since it’s not possible to completely avoid flame retardants (they’re used in building materials, electronic products, furniture, & fabrics), this is all the more reason to do our best to minimize our overall exposure to toxic chemicals and support our natural detoxification mechanisms!

💡Pro Health Tip |
|
When it comes to thyroid health, it’s tempting to focus on nutrition. But the thyroid is part of the larger endocrine system—and can therefore also benefit from activities that regulate the nervous system.
Yoga, walking, and vagal toning exercises are some examples of surprising (and research backed 📚) habits that support the thyroid!

🔍 Did You Know? |
|
Anyone who struggles with thyroid function knows that it’s all too common for their labs to look “fine” and yet still feel tired all the time or have mood swings, brain fog, constipation, hair loss, or other concerns.
That’s why in functional medicine, we also:
✔️ Monitor more than just TSH
✔️ Optimize nutrition for thyroid hormone synthesis
✔️ Support conversion of T4 to the more active T3
✔️ Calm inflammation & oxidative stress
✔️ Identify & address root causes (metals, toxins, nutrient deficiencies, infections, stress, etc.)
