Hello ,

A commodity is any useful or valuable thing, especially something that is bought and sold. Grain, coffee, and precious metals are all commodities.

Recently, my dear friend reminded me, Time is a commodity and truly one of our most precious commodities.  We were talking about social media and how easy it is to scroll and lose track of time.  I know that without intention it is easy to give away my precious commodity to something that does not nourish my soul.  I removed Instagram from my phone and noticed a shift in my nervous system within hours.  I am looking forward to more of this settling as I intentionally take back my time.

Who and what are you unintentionally giving your time away to?

"How you spend your time is how you spend your life" by Annie Dillard

Your choices and daily activities ultimately shape the course of your life. The way you allocate your time reflects the quality of your existence.

If you dedicate your time to things that bring you joy, your life will likely feel more fulfilling. On the other hand, spending your time on things you don't enjoy can lead to dissatisfaction.

By being intentional with how you approach your relationships, work, and leisure, you can make the most of your time. Living in the moment and finding happiness in the little things can bring greater meaning to your days.

  • If you spend your time doing things you enjoy, your life will likely be fulfilling.
  • If you spend your time doing things you don't enjoy, your life will likely be miserable.
  • You can make the most of your time by being intentional about your relationships, work, and leisure.
  • You can be more present in each moment and experience joy in the small things.

Being mindful of your time is key to living a more enriched life.

Here are a few ways to be more mindful of how you spend your time:

  • Pay attention to how you feel when you're distracted.
  • Be conscious of the shift in energy as you move from one activity to another.
  • Reimagine tasks and find ways to make them more enjoyable.  Just for fun, mix up how you do your daily tasks and notice.
Stay curious and take care of each other,

~ Lynn 🌈

LEARNING

In the News

New research shows that for women in middle age, just 3 minutes of vigorous activity daily can reduce cardiovascular risk by 45%. Just 3 minutes.

Think activities like running up the stairs, racing to catch a bus, or quickly carrying groceries up the stairs.

These short bursts of movement stress the heart just enough to trigger healthy adaptations.

Here are some ways to get 30-second bursts of activity:

  • Fast jumping jacks

  • Run in place with high knees

  • Race up and down the stairs

  • Plyometric jumps (up and down on a box or step)

I love when research confirms that even small efforts yield big results—without long hours at the gym!

These are also GREAT ways to shift your mood and infuse energy into your day, give it a try!

Pro Health Tip

Most adults only get 0.1 gram of omega-3s a day—WAY below the amount needed for heart, brain, and inflammation support.

Here’s what 3 grams (the sweet spot for heart health) looks like:

🐟 From seafood (EPA & DHA), pick one of these to hit 3 grams:

4 oz salmon, mackerel, or trout

7 small sardines

6 oz canned tuna

Nuts and seeds also have omega-3s, but the body converts less than 10% of those into the more active EPA & DHA, so seafood or supplements are the most direct way to get benefits.

If we are working together, we have likely checked your Omegas in blood work panel.

Curious about your personal result?  Ask Lynn at your next visit.

Did You Know?

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women worldwide—including in the US. Female bodies have unique heart health risks, like:

  • Estrogen is naturally protective of the heart, so menopause dramatically increases heart risk.

  • Some conditions that men never face (like gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, PCOS, and endometriosis) can increase heart disease risk.

  • Women with heart disease symptoms are twice as likely as men to be told that it’s just ‘stress’ or ‘anxiety.’

Heart attacks present differently in women. Sure, chest pain is common, but women often experience less obvious symptoms like pain in the neck, jaw, throat, arm, or back—plus dizziness, nausea, heartburn, or sheer exhaustion.
