Hello ,
Spring is springing!
What does Spring Equinox mean?
Vernal translates to “new” and “fresh,” and equinox derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night).
So what does that mean? Essentially, our hours of daylight—the period of time each day between sunrise and sunset—have been growing slightly longer each day since the winter solstice in December, which is the shortest day of the year (at least in terms of light).
Even though we know that after December 21st, the days start getting steadily longer, we still see more darkness than light over the course of a day in those three months leading up to spring. The vernal equinox marks the turning point when daylight begins to win out over darkness.

In the News |
Why is it that some people are more susceptible to infections or “food poisoning” than others?
A new study says it comes down to the gut microbiome.
This study is especially fascinating because it flips some old beliefs on their head.
Whereas it used to be thought that good bacteria could crowd out harmful bugs by competing for nutrients, this study found that eating fiber may be more effective than taking probiotics because fiber fuels bacteria that produce short-chain fatty acids, which create a healthier gut environment.
It’s tempting to think a pill (even a probiotic) is always the answer, but most of the time, it comes back to the basics of eating healthy, whole foods.

Pro Health Tip |
You can make any snack or meal more nutrient-dense simply by keeping a few simple foods in your kitchen, like:
|
-
Pesto
-
Chia Seeds
-
Cinnamon
-
Seaweed
-
Tahini
|
These superfoods give your body the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants it needs to boost energy, immune function, and overall health.
They give you an unfair advantage. |

Did You Know? |
Not all calories are equal 💥
Just think about salmon vs. hot dogs.
Blueberries vs. gummy worms.
Sweet potatoes vs. chips.
Some foods are high in nutrients (nutrient-dense), but others—not so much.
One fuels your health, and the other just fills you up.
