Hello ,

Good Morning Sunshine!

I have been prioritizing greeting my day first thing with sunrise.  Sitting outside letting the sun pour into my cells.  It's free, available and a powerful source of healing.

"Your circadian rhythm is controlled by light exposureβ€”when you see light, especially sunlight at the right times, you send powerful signals to your brain, mitochondria, and hormones that regulate sleep, metabolism, and energy production. Artificial light, especially blue and green wavelengths, disrupts this system, leading to hormonal imbalances, mitochondrial dysfunction, and chronic disease." ... A reminder this week's ZOOM Group visit is Open Office Hours.

We’re trying something new with our monthly Zoom group visit β€” to better support you and meet you where you’re at.

Starting this month, our third-Tuesday Zoom group visit will become a live Q&A-style β€œoffice hours” session.

This is a relaxed, come-as-you-are space to:

  • Ask questions about your health journey

  • Get clarification on recent labs or symptoms

  • Hear what others are curious about

  • Connect with Lynn and other members in real time

You don’t need to prepare anything. Just drop in and join the conversation!

We’ll be testing out this format for the next 3 months and would love for you to join and share your feedback.

Walk slowly,

~ Lynn 🌈

LEARNING

In the News

A new study finds that chewing more equals eating less.

We talk a lot about what to eat for better health.

But not enough people are talking about how we eat.

A new study from Japan found that eating more slowly was linked to eating less.

Here are some specifics:

  • Women naturally ate more slowly and took smaller bites than men

  • Slower eating led to less food intake

  • Listening to calming rhythms helped everyone eat more slowly

You can play calm music at mealtime, put your fork down between bites, or focus on savoring every bite.

See how you feel!

Pro Health Tip

Skipping meals is not helping your metabolism.

Your body perceives that as stress.

Stress triggers cortisol.

Cortisol raises blood sugar.

The result is that you may experience sporadic blood sugar, energy crashes, and a tendency to store more fat when you eat that next meal.

If you want to break the cycle of carb cravings, mood swings, brain fog, and hunger…

Maybe it’s time to set a routine eating schedule.

Did You Know?

A sluggish metabolism does not ONLY cause weight gain.

It affects everything from energy and motivation to focus and mood.

In functional medicine, we’re always looking for the root cause.

Some things we look for as hidden causes are:

  • Underactive thyroid

  • Nutrient insufficiencies

  • Exposure to toxins

  • Insulin resistance

  • Inflammation

It’s not your job to figure these things out on your own.

It’s ours.
