Hello ,
The Durango Farmer's Market was on Main Street today, what a fun change of venue!Β Β They are trying this out the first Tuesday of the month through the end of the season.Β Β Durango is so lucky to have such an amazing local food scene.Β Β Eating locally and seasonally is truly in my opinion the best food plan to meet personal needs.Β Β
Why seasonally and locally?
Connecting with local farmers, supporting local businesses and just pure flavor burst to name a few.Β
Local foods are rich in the essential nutrients your mitochondria need for optimal energy production and are less likely to contain substances that could hinder their function or cause damage. This provides a strong bioenergetic advantage, promoting overall cellular health and vitality.Β Β If food has to travel distance to reach your plate nutrients are less.
Area of ongoing researchΒ Β 👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼 The direct link between locally grown food and specific light spectrum benefits for mitochondria is evolving, I am paying attention!
Hope to see y'all at the market!
Be kind, walk slowly and savor,Β
~ Lynn 🌈

A major new study tracking 120,000+ people over 10 years found that eating a diverse mix of flavonoid-rich foods may lower your risk of chronic disease AND support a longer life span.
The importance of variety cannot be overstated!Β
Some foods support healthy blood pressure.Β
Some foods support healthy cholesterol levels.Β
Some foods support a healthy inflammatory response.Β
So, instead of drinking tea every day, itβs better to rotate in a variety of foods like grapes, citrus, berries, apples, and dark chocolate.Β
This study confirms what we have long said in functional medicine:
Colorful, plant-rich diets support whole-body wellness.

Pro Health Tip
|
Given that indoor air can be 2-5x more polluted than outdoor air even in homesβ¦Β
Here are some simple things you can do to keep indoor air fresh:
Keep air-purifying plants
Run the range hood when cooking
Use a high-quality air purifier with a HEPA filter
Change HVAC filters regularly
Open windows when possible
Keep indoor humidity between 40β50%
Use natural cleaning products
Clean air supports detox, hormones, immunity, and overall energy!

Did You Know?
|
You naturally detox every day.
Not just during a juice cleanse.Β
Not just after a vacation binge.
Hereβs what systems are working behind the scenes to clear out everyday waste and what they need from YOU:
|
Your liver breaks down toxins so they can be eliminated (but it needs you to eat nutritious foods).
Your kidneys filter waste through your urine (but they need you to stay hydrated).
Your gut eliminates toxins in the stool (as long as you arenβt stopped up).
Your lymph moves cellular waste out of the tissues (but it only flows when you move).
Your skin sweats out waste (which works better when you actually sweat).
|
Are you starting to see a pattern?Β
Our bodies are built to gently detox all the time, but we do have a role to play here.
And clean living is the place to start.
