Hello ,

As the seasons shift and the light softens, I’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to feel safe in our bodies.

Providing safety inputs is one of the most powerful ways to support health and vitality. These signals shift our cellular processes into the health cycle—a dynamic, responsive state where vitality is restored. This isn’t something static; it’s alive, responsive, and constantly adjusting to the cues we give it. The empowering truth is that we have agency in this process.

This doesn’t come from a supplement or medication—it comes from how we live. The small moments that fill our minutes, hours, and days eventually become the fabric of our lives.

Our bodies are exquisitely designed for vitality, supported by countless integrated systems. Yet when things go awry, it’s easy to slip into the mindset that something is “broken” or needs “fixing.” That chase for the next modality or supplement can keep us stuck in stress and striving, rather than grounded in safety.

Of course, healing modalities, supplements, and medications can all play supportive roles. But at the most foundational level, healing begins when we remember that we are whole—and when we invite safety signals back into our daily rhythm.

A few simple ways to begin:

  • Sunlight, being out at sunrise and sunset

  • Nature

  • Grounding (bare feet on the earth)

  • Whole, colorful, seasonal foods

  • Physical touch (pets and humans)

  • Quiet and rest

  • Mindful movement

  • Creative play (doodling, dancing, gardening, cooking…)

  • Breath

  • Listening and trusting your body

This fall, may you find moments of warmth, stillness, and reconnection with your body’s deep intelligence.

Walk slowly, feel your feet on the ground, breathe deeply, and take care of each other,

Dementia Prevention Begins in Midlife

New research published in JAMA Neurology shows that up to 44% of dementia is preventable.

The study found that maintaining vascular health from midlife through your 70s can significantly lower your risk of developing dementia before age 80.

Early prevention was KEY.

While we can’t change our genes, we can take steps to address blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, and movement.

Especially starting in midlife.

The first step is awareness.

When is the last time you checked in with your health practitioner for a metabolic health assessment?

Clean Living Includes Natural Detox Support

You naturally detox every day.

Not just during a juice cleanse.

Not just after a vacation binge.

Here’s what systems are working behind the scenes to clear

out everyday waste and what they need from YOU:

  • Your liver breaks down toxins so they can be eliminated (but it needs you to eat nutritious foods).

  • Your kidneys filter waste through your urine (but they need you to stay hydrated).

  • Your gut eliminates toxins in the stool (as long as you aren’t stopped up).

  • Your lymph moves cellular waste out of the tissues (but it only flows when you move).

  • Your skin sweats out waste (which works better when you actually sweat).

Our bodies are built to gently detox all the time, but we do have a role to play here.

Health Tip

Start Clean Living in the Kitchen

Here are some foods to keep on hand to support your body’s detox pathways. Think of it as your clean-living grocery list:

  • Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, kale)

  • Healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, wild-caught salmon)

  • Fiber-rich foods (berries, flax, lentils, leafy greens)

  • Anti-inflammatory spices (turmeric, ginger, garlic)

  • Clean proteins (organic eggs, legumes, pasture-raised meats)

And a few easy swaps to consider:

  • Swap out plastic containers → for glass or stainless steel

  • Swap out sugary condiments → for fermented or homemade options

  • Swap out packaged snacks → for whole foods you recognize

A quote to ponder

It's about learning to dance in the rain"
