Hello ,

How did your November Pantry Purge go?

Let's continue with the theme of simplifying and "less is more" in our external spaces.

December invites us to slow down, reflect, and release what we no longer need—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Decluttering isn’t just about tidying your home; it’s about making space for calm, clarity, and creativity. When our environment feels light and open, our nervous system follows.

This month’s focus is a gentle practice of clearing space to create safety, simplicity, and renewal—the kind of quiet foundation from which healing and vitality can grow.

Decluttering is a nervous system reset!

Be kind, take care of each other,

~Lynn 🌈

December Invitation

Declutter Your Space

1. Begin Where You Are
Choose one small area—your nightstand, bathroom drawer, or desk. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s momentum.

2. Ask the Simple Question
Does this support the life and rhythm I’m cultivating? If not, thank it and let it go.

3. Clear Surfaces, Calm the Mind
Even 10 minutes spent clearing countertops, tables, or nightstands can shift your nervous system toward ease.

4. Create a Winter Rhythm
Use baskets or boxes to gather “maybe later” items. Set them aside until January and notice how your energy feels without them.

5. Invite Sensory Calm
Open windows, light a candle, diffuse essential oils, or play gentle music as you declutter. Engage your senses to reinforce safety and care.

6. Refresh and Reconnect
Once space feels clear, bring in a touch of seasonal warmth—a branch of pine, a bowl of citrus, or a cozy blanket that reminds you of rest and renewal.

7. Celebrate Simplicity
You’re not just organizing; you’re re-patterning your environment to reflect peace, presence, and possibility.

Key principles of the KonMari method

  1. Keep what "sparks joy":

This is the central tenet of the KonMari method. Instead of focusing on what to get rid of, you focus on what you want to keep. By holding each item, you can decide if it elicits a positive feeling.
  2. Tidy by category, not by location:

Many tidying methods recommend going room by room, but this can lead to items migrating and the tidying never feeling complete. The KonMari method requires you to gather every item from one category from all over the house to grasp the volume of your possessions.
  3. Visualize your ideal lifestyle:

Before you begin, envision the kind of life you want to live. This vision provides the motivation to make difficult decisions during the tidying process.
  4. Respect your belongings:

Kondo advises acknowledging the role each item has played in your life, even if you are discarding it. This mindset allows you to let go with gratitude

A quote to ponder
